Hi all,
On holiday in Turkey several years ago we found a restaurant that made Banana Curry Pizza. Sounds gross, I know, but they were fantastic and I have been looking for a recipe ever since. Does anybody on here have a recipe for this, so I can make my OH's day
Fingers crossed!

I can't help with the pizza, but you may enjoy this dessert. Wrap bananas (in their skins) in foil and bake in the oven or on a barbecue. Open the parcels, cut the bananas open and sprinkle with curry powder. Maybe serve with creme fraiche or something similar.
It's ages since I've had this, so I can't remember temperatures and timings.
Hope you find your pizza recipe.0 -
Sounds horrid. However I have found a banana curry recipe:

Maybe you could just put some on a base and chuck some cheese on and see what happens.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

I know, it does sound pretty disgusting, but honestly was yummy! Thanks for the link, I'll have to take the bull by the horns and experiment I think. The coconut should go nicely with the banana though, so I think I'll have a go at this in the week.
Thanks to both of you!Total Debt January 2014 £10,725.44

The kind of drugs a person would have to be on to even order a banana curry pizza in the first place doesn't bear thinking about. What on earth possessed you?0

lol, it was our first day in Turkey, we let ourselves be herded into a restaurant by an over-zealous Turk, and decided we'd better order a light lunch and then make our escape. The only thing 'light' on the menu was the pizza section, and we decided we weren't gonna go all the way to Turkey to have food that we could get in our local kebab shop, which left the banana curry pizza.
We went back four or five times for it over the 2 week holTotal Debt January 2014 £10,725.44

Didn't they have any pide or lamacun, the Turkish version of pizza? Now, they are worth making a trip for. I understand that Turkish food is among the best in the Middle East and the standards found in my neighbourhood certainly confirm this. Imam Bayildi, Baba ganoush. Mmmmmm!0

We had an indian curry with banana in it once, think was called a kasmir curry. Boke!0

I often slice a banana into hot, Indian style curry - it's a bit like adding mango chutney

They gave us an english menu so no sign of anything that sounded Turkish. Was good for a quick lunch though!
We did find a few fantastic places to eat off the beaten track though, and can confirm that not only is the food out of this world, but the people are the friendliest we've met too.Total Debt January 2014 £10,725.44
