Answerphone that doesn't take messages.

This may sound like a weird request, but does anybody know if there is such a thing as an answerphone that doesn't take messages?
Something that we can put a message on to and say "we're not here, but call back tomorrow between 9:00 - 5:00".
Our current answerphone can't handle all the out-of-hours calls and ends up being full very quickly. Also, it's a bore having to sift through it all in the morning and ring them back. It would be so much easier if everybody just called during working hours.

I do not know what answer phone you have but ours has a facility that allow you to set it to "Announcement only"I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Just a thought, but what happens when your existing answerphone is full? Does it just refuse to take any more messages? If so, then let it fill up but don't ever clear the messages.Stompa0

It just lets the phone keep ringing.
I guess I need to look for this "announcement only" mode either on it, or on a new one. Thanks.0 -
On your normal message, just say what you said above then say, This ansaphone does not take messages'make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Maybe you could add at the end of your announcement that "any messages you might leave after the beep will be ignored utterly and completely, so it's a waste of your time and phone-bll to even contemplate the idea"...? (reword to taste)
And don't be tempted to listen to any vituperative obscenities that this announcement might cause!0 -
Panasonic (KX-TG842x) has either answer or announce.0
