I have been reading the site and getting so much from it that I thought it was time I joined in!
I am looking to see a musical - for 2adult, 1st weekend (fri or sat) in March. I was hoping you guys would have some ideas on cheap tickets/cheap meal deals/cheap hotels.
I know you can go down to teh stands and get half price tickets on the day - but thats not really an option this time round.
thanks in advance

Hello - welcome!
If you go onto the next page there is some info about theatre tickets - I posted the same question yesterday
What price hotel are you looking at/ how many people? I may be able to helo. I am spending the weekend in a hotel with a pool for 2 nights 2 people at £190, smack bang near totenham court road.
Let me know and I will see if I can help.
DBeing bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
I just want to ask if there are other options to buy cheaper west end tickets, e.g., phantom of the opera and the producers ?
thanks.0 -
Having worked in them I know that London theatres hold back around 30 seats per production (extras for cast, director etc) these are rteleased to the general public via the ticket booths (Leicester sq etc) at 10.30. Be in the que then and you'll pick up a bargain.
2 weeks ago i had front row seats for Billy Elliot for £15 each.0 -

Its the tkts booths if you're after genuine bargains! Be wary of the other ticket resellers, unlikely you'll get a bargain.
Try theatre monkey (as recommended elsewhere on MSE) if you want info on where to sit.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
Hi the tickets booth is pretty much unbeatable for on the day tickets, but you do have to turn up in the morning and queue.
However, it is possible to book discounted tickets for certain shows in advance, mind you only a day or two in advance. Again it helps if you are going off-peak, i.e. weekdays and not in half term or other holiday periods. I work in a hotel where we book tickets via an agency. Of course the agency takes a cut, but most of the time the discounts outweigh that!
Some of the shows that I have managed to get discounted tickets for include Chicago, Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis. Other shows that regularly have discounted tickets available are: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Blood Brothers, We Will Rock You, Fame, Saturday Night Fever, Far Pavillions, Jailhouse Rock, Joseph and the dreamcoat and Stomp.
Top price tickets which usually sell for over £40 each are often available for £25-£30.
I am happy to try to get tickets for fellow moneysavers. By all means send me a PM and I will send you my phone number.
