According to the CSA calculator on their website you should be paying £50 per week.
CSA dont take into account debts and rent etc that you may have to pay.
Its just a straight forward 25% of your take home pay
Contact with the kids is a different matter and nothing to do with maintenance. It is paid regardless0 -
OP, do you owe anything in arrears? If so, they can take upto 40% of your wage.2010 resolutions1- get my 5yo DD dry daytime, with enuresis help dry since 12th Jan so far!

you need to get an account breakdown asap, surely you must have known that you had to pay CSA each month??0

You might be able to get halp with your rent and/or council tax. Assuming you live alone, you should get a 25% discount on your council tax anyway - if you don't, then contact you local council. This would give you a bit more money to live on.
But as others have said, you must have known that you should have been paying CM. If you did not inform the CSA of your change in employment, and did not keep up repayments, then they are entitled to take up to 40% of your net pay. This is made up of the 25% that you need to pay for three children, with the remainder going towards your arrears payment. You have a responsibility to inform the CSA of any changes (if using the CSA) and you have a responsibility to pay for your children, including any arrears.0 -
on £200 a week shouldn't you be entitled to benefits - Working Tax Credit for starters. Possibly also housing benefit.
Can I suggest you ask on the benefit forums:beer: I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex
I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )0 -
From what i can remember you have a set amount of protected income from your wages for paying bills, rent, mortgage, food ect, they cannot touch that as that would force you into debt, you should ask them to re assess you giving them a full breakdown of your living expenses and net income.0

Why is it only men that can give this adviceNot all NRP's are men, there are some women on here who dont have custody of their children!
As IreneT has said you have a protected income of £100 a week to live on (that would cover your rent and council tax payments) and then the CSA could take 40% of the remaining money. You need to contact them and ask them to re-assess the amount they are asking for, in the meantime I suggest that you pay them the £40 a week so that you do not accrue any further arrears.
Maintenance and contact are not linked so if you want to see your children you will have to gain a contact order through the courts, but given the level of your income you will probably be entitled to legal aid to do this.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
