Hi
I was wondering if anybody knew what the process is once you have been put forward for consideration of an advanced payment of the arrears.
The story so far is 7 weeks ago i wrote to the csa requesting an advanced payment 2 weeks after they recieved the letter they phoned me to say it had been sent to the team for consideration, i have at least 10yrs of admitted maladministration on their behalf and meet all the criteria but not heard anything since.

Are you hoping to get 10 years worth of arrears paid in a lump ?
IF so are you on benefits cos surely that sort of amount would affect your entitlement to some benefits
I do however believe/understand you have to receive 3 consecutive payments from your ex first ? I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex
I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )0 -
Hi
No i am in work and have been since 1996 as i understand it 8k of the arrears belong to the state for the period i was on benefits but the rest acording to my ICE report belongs to me as the csa put my file into storage within weeks of contacting them in 1993 and the NRP sent in his forms on time and then it was left in storage until 2003, even though i had been in contact with them during this period and they told me a payment was due ect ect.
How this was possible is bewildering to me as they had not even entered it into the system until 2003 and then left it again until 2005 before starting any procedures to set up an initial Payment, the NRP has been paying his arrears back since late 2008 early 2009 every week but it will still take him another 50 years at his present payment rate to pay it off in full.
ICE found 39 seperate points i think it was of maladministration in my case between 1993 and 2006 and their have been numerous others since then, but the worst and longest one was putting my file into storage and not setting up an initial assesment until 05, given miss information shall we say and failing to take any action even after i had contacted them.
The list goes on and on and i have requested an advanced payment twice before but both were refused as a payment pattern had not been established so it could not be sent to the advanced payments team for consideration, but now it has and was wondering if anybody new what happens next.
From what i have been told in the past a regular payment pattern can be as short as 3-6 months but they prefer a minimum of 12 months usually and for it to be unbroken ie if one payment is missed then it has to be re established again, or at least that is what they have told me in the past and the ICE report and the Ombudsman recomended that an advanced payment be made as soon as this payment partern had been established0 -
the next step should be that they pay you! Have you called to ask when you should expect the money?0
