That's the one. it was just always such fun to sing at school and might actually be a hymn that my family/friends will sing along to as we're not going to be having the choir.0

I like that song too.
Vicars are used to people choosing hymns they know from school. In my church we get a lot of 'Morning has broken' and 'All things bright and beautiful' at weddings because people remember those from school.
You'll need the music for the organist. Its published in a book called 'Come and Praise' which was published by the BBC as a school hymn book. Its no 4 in volume 1. I think they also do a combined volume now which would also contain it. Amazon may well have 2ndhand music copies cheaply, or the organist may have it anyway. HTH0 -
Sorry to hi-jack, does anyone know the hymn that goes like:
bridge a river, span a gorge, forge new ways ahead
Or similar? Tried google but no luck:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Sorry Mrsmooretobe, don't know that one. I really need to sort my hymns by tonight as i'll be seeing the person who will be arranging the parts for the band to do so really need to get my backside in gear. I just can't think of any hymns other than depressing ones! I think we're having lord of the dance but need 1 more.....0

Hi Loonytoons - The first cheerful well-known hymn that I thought of is 'Sing Hosanna'. it starts 'Give me joy in my heart, keep me singing' and has verses of 'Give me love in my heart' and 'Give me peace in my heart,' with a lively chorus. I don't know if you sang it at school?!
Sometimes it has an extra first verse of 'Give me oil in my lamp' but you can always leave that out. HTH
