Probably very silly question...

Relocating to new area other side of UK. Have £100,000 to put down on property £180,000.
Therefore, need mortgage of £80,000. I am a social worker who will be working as a locum once we are settled. I'm guesing that no lender will lend with no secured permanent wage? Would like to move a.s.a.p and confident that once moved work will not be a prob.:o
Thanks

  • If your self employed and can prove past incomes then they will lend to you, however without any employment (as far as i know) it isnt possible. Best option would be to get a short term rent until you can get a job, and you mentioned "once we are settled", does anyone else in your family have a job, as borrowing 80k in your situation should then be a doddle.
