Can I get a Mortgage?

Hi, we [myself and my wife] have just completed a DMP with payplan. We have never had a CCJ, but obviously had some bad debt registered against both of us in the past whilst on the DMP.

What are the chances of a Mortgage? Will I have to wait the 6 years until my Credit file is clean again? are there options that will not cost the earth?

santander looked at my outgoing debt payments and how many dependents i've got and agreed the mortgage on that basis so so long as you're paying your debts and you're left with enough disposable income that the bank think you can afford a mortgage then you should be ok.

Not enough info to go on - how much deposit do you have saved up and what kind of property values are you thinking of?
