Help. Roast lamb disaster

I have all the family round today for lunch. I marinated a leg of lamb, stuffed with rosemary, garlic etc and cooked slowly overnight. I have got up this morning and the timer stopped working 1/2 way through and the lamb isn't cooked, it stinks to high heaven due to to sitting partially cooked in water all night covered in rosemary and garlic, but I am pretty certain the meat isn't off.
Is it safe to carry on cooking it? I can't afford to chuck out a leg of lamb, neither do I want to poison my family members.
Thanks

I would remove/replace the water and carry on cooking; it's probably just the water that smells. You'll know once it's cooked if it's okay by tasting some. I'd also post this on the old-style thread that's more aimed at food and cooking for more responses.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it

How did it go?

Thanks for the advice.

I removed the water, cooked it through thoroughly, no pinkiness and it was lovely! 24 hours later and no one has died so I guess it was ok.

Lamb has a habit of smelling when I defrost it etc. It will have the stagnant juices / water that smelled. Anyhow by cooking it through fully means you'll have brought the meat up to temperature and killed any bugs.2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback
