What's happened to the scroll?

Hi,
For some reason on my laptop I can't scroll down the page properly using the arrow key on the keyboard. It jumps down the page and there is a big blinking cursor on the left hand side. My baby likes to try and press the buttons if she can and I'm thinking she may have pressed something! Anybody have any advice?
