    Don't you just love it.

    1) New business please ring on a freefone number.
    2) Existing customers you can pay for your call.
    3) Arrears and you can pay too, even though it's obvious you can't afford it.

Always the same but what I love is the fact that the mortgage goes to BR +0.99% at end of discount term.

First Active customer for around 5 years now and received a letter today stating pretty much the original post.

What do you think this means for the company?

Should existing customers be slightly concerned and what could potentially happen?

Find it strange that not open for new custom, but now only supporting existing customers? What does this mean for the way it operates?

Looking for a little reassurance or clarification if the company is going/goes under mortgages will be wiped :T

Ah of course... Nevertheless, what could it mean if they decided to shut down?

According to 'The Truth About Mortgage' who feature a comprehensive list of mortgage closures, mergers and layoffs, it states "Ulster Bank (RBS-UK) – cut 750 jobs, close First Active mortgage unit"...

Direct Line, another RBS brand has also ceased offering mortgages to new customers from 29 March.

Guess it's just RBS subsidiaries then and them ceasing to offer new trade means the source of where the mortgage comes from is not going under!?

Bringing this back from the dead but did any one who was / is with First Active get offered to move to another lender and have a % of their mortgage written off?

    Nope?

Have still remained with them, communication has been pretty poor actually considering they've ceased up and now have RBS taking over.

I've often enquired about re-mortgaging and porting and have had to go around the houses to get any details.

Wish could've had the offer to have some written off - our mortgage is relatively small, however :) What's the details around yours?

Have not approached them yet but will do soon. In negative equity currently as bought during peak. Trying to figure out how best to approach them about it. Currently on a 1.49+ BOE rate which is nice
