Had some fantastic bread from Waitrose
http://www.waitrosedeliver.com/wdeliver/servlet/JSPs/shop/display_ind_fs.jsp?line_number=094082&prrfnbr=292700
Usually £2.89 a loaf:eek:
10p on a Sunday afternoon:money:
It was amazing, the best bread I've ever eaten. I'm almost sorry I had it, as I will want to buy it again & again.
OR I could make it.......
Found this HFW recipe thats close

But its white.
The Waitose bread was a light brown, so I could add half brown.
Plus no rasins, but I could reduce the figs & walnuts slightly & add rasins instead?
I'm most worried about the flour, straight swop or will I need to change liquids or anything because of using brown?
I plan on doing this in the panny:D

Just have confidence, and give it a try - what are you losing?
I don;t add extra water for brown bread, but it depends on your flour.
You can alter the fruits to what you like, as long as you keep the total weight the same. I like apricot and orange zest, with some spices.
Let us know how it turns out
BTW - your new avatar is freaking me out :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Back on topic - cherries in fruit loaf are nice, but wash of the sugar gloop first:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
