Wedding gift and golden wedding gift (sewn?)

I have my brother's wedding and my parents golden wedding this summer and want to make them something special to remember the occassions.
I was thinking for my parents I could make a collection of gold things (bit like the pots of gold people make) but am a bit stuck as to what to put in it other than foil-wrapped sweets that both Mum and Dad will like (can't afford real gold or anything else pricey).
For my brother, not a clue! They want vouchers, which is fine, but I'd like to make something more memorable or useful too. They already have two sons and something for the family might be nice.
I am a relatively good sewer (nothing as good as making a quilt, though!) and fairly handy with paper crafts.
Help me, please!!
