I'm sorry if there's already a thread for this ... but you lovely people seemed the most likely to know!
Around this time last year some instore magazine (possibly Sainsburys?) did a receipe for a dessert that was mainly Hot Cross Buns, Marmalade and Custard. I made it and it was delicious. I have, however, lost the receipe and can't remember what to do. Does anybody else remember this? or could give a good guess at what to do?
Thank you in advance

Was it like a bread and butter pudding type thing? If it were me I would maybe make a lasagne with it all.... using the sliced hot cross buns as the pasta, the marmalade as the mince and the custard as the white sauce. Maybe top with some sugar as the cheese and bake in the oven for about 20 mins?
Come to think of it i think i might make that tonight!!! ThanksFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
I would imagine it's like bread and butter pudding, in fact I think I'v seen that recipe too, so what I would do is, Split them in two, spread with butter and marmalade, layer in an oven proof dish, sprinkle over some more dried fruit if you fancy it (mixed peel would be nice) then cover with custard and sprinkle with brown sugar and bake for what, 20-30mins until deep golden colour.

I'd heard using marmelade in bread and butter pudding was good in the past, so it seems like this is just the currants are in the hot cross buns rather than added seperately.0
