Sainsburys basics , Asda Smartprice, Tesco Value it does look like a lot of the packets do have pictures if the product isn't visible through the packaging.
If the value range isn't listed properly change the Supermarket by clicking on it along the top of the page.

Sometimes packets are misleading. I bought a product showing a tall, strong, kilt-wearing Scotsman but unfortunately there were just oats inside the box.

why dont the RNIB (for example) and supermarkets get together, and invent a barcode reader that would bring up a picture of the product? it could be a small phone type thing that reads the barcode then either a photo or drawing shows on a small screen.
if this gets invented by anyone, remember where you saw it!

Great idea, many of the smartphones already have barcode readers in - my iPhone does. Granted that is chuffing expensive, but the technology will be much cheaper soon enough. Someone on one of the other boards was suggesting this technology should be used for an app that would allow you to create a shopping list from your empty tins and packets.
