I just picked up the last one from Lancaster - stickered at £9.
Cracking bargain, thanks OP!!0 -
Well just to update, called their cust services. they advise me it is no longer available, and that my order was cancelled. they had not even bothered to call me regarding this.
Am pretty fuming as it was going to be a present for my Dad. Spoke to a supervisor who is going to look into it with the buyer and call me back. I can see that on the website it will not even let you put an order on now even at the higher price.
I was told in store when they didnt have any stock that it would be no prob to get me a copy sent to the store. If they had told me there could be probs I would have happily checked around other stores for stock.
Will update when I hear back, but I am hopping mad at the mo...0 -
This seems typical of Woolies at the moment . Their is a sudden rush on items online , the price is jacked up & suddenly the store price goes up too . On Monday in my local store it was £9 , yesterday is was £25 & they had no stock of the obvious £9 stickered boxes on display . :mad:0

I wouldnt flippin mind but I have tipped people off about the gr8 price, then cannot even get one for myself!!!
Oh the irony of it!0 -
Woolies emailed me to apologise and said they didn't have stock nor would they be able to get stock so had set it to 'not available' on their online store - what a cop-out!
Come on woolies sort yourselvers out!

Check your junk mail folder. Hotmail treated my cancellation email from Woolies as junk! Quite appropriate don't you think!0 -

Below is a copy of a complaint letter I have sent to their head office today. will update you as to what happens.
(I rang around local stores today and have managed to get a store to reserve me one at least but I am still going to be wasting petrol to go and get it).
On 3/8/06 I went into your Camberley store and saw that you had Microsoft flight Simulator 2004 for the PC on sale for £9.
I went to the counter to purchase it and after some hunting around was advised it was not actually in stock. The gentleman who served me kindly said he would order a copy in for me at no extra cost. He swiped my debit card and advised that I would get a call when it came in.
As I had not heard anything, I called your customer service centre on 10/8/06 to find out what was happening. The gentleman who answered advised that it was no longer available and that my order had been cancelled.
No one had bothered to call me about this, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. The lady I spoke to said she would speak to the buyers about it and then call me back. She took my phone number, I waited in all afternoon yet I still heard nothing back.
I then went into the Camberley store today and saw that they had 5 copies of the game on the shelves so went up to the counter to buy one only to be told again that none were in stock. Again the person who served me offered to order another copy.
It strikes me that your staff really have not got a clue what is going on and your systems are totally inadequate. You should not have copies on the shelf if you have no intention of getting any more stock in. Also you should not be offering to order them for the customer if they are not going to be available. Your website I note is offering copies for sale as well, yet if you click to order it says unavailable.
I feel really let down by you. The game was going to be a present for my Father and I have now wasted a week waiting for something that was never going to arrive.
I feel the least you can do in the circumstances is compensate me for my time, phone call and the poor service I have received from you.
I look forward to hearing good news from you shortly.

The reason you are constantly being asked if you wish to order a copy, is because this is the standard procedure that staff are being asked to follow if a product is out of stock.0

Good luck with the reply from them! You should have also asked why on earth it was part of their price crash for 1 week and now it has gone right up to £43.99?! Very strange and unfair on people who wanted a copy for £9.The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0
