It was a Back to School voucher that expired around the end of August, this was originally a thread started a few months ago.

Panick the link to to 200 clubcard points on £5 spend until 31 Dec doesn't work it takes you to the august one.!??! Has anyone got the voucher copied into their PC? I'll love a copy please!!

It is probably your computer using the cached copy of the old voucher since the web address is the same for the new one.

Hold down the Shift key and press the Refresh button to get the new copy from whsmith web server rather than your computers cache.

This has happened before and then it corrected itself on a previous voucher. It's obviously at WHSmiths end because even though I saved the URL in my favourites when it was the correct expiry date it now comes up with August. It's best to save them so they are available offline.
