Tax rebate When?

In janurary my workplace had to send off a forum to reclaim the emergency tax i was paying but noone seems to have heard back or know when or how i'd receive it?

    I think your firm are stringing you along - if HMRC has issued a cumulative code, then the employer is authorised to make the repayment. They only send off for permission to make a refund if you had a big gap in employment and it throws up a large repayment on your first payday.
    I suggest you speak to your payroll dept and if they are in any doubt, they need to ring their tax office.

    :mad: My boss told me i'd have to wait untill after the end of the tax year,As in april..Is there any chance i might not get this now as the tax year has ended?

    If you don't get your tax refund before 6 April (via your payslip), your P60 will show that you have paid too much tax - all you would need to do is send that to HMRC with a cover letter explaining you think you may have paid too much tax during the 2009/10 tax year as you were on an emergency code - and ask them to send you a cheque for any overpaid tax.

    Alternatively, you could fill in an R40.
