Insurance Courtesy Cars

Hi. Anybody out there had any good or bad experiences with getting a courtesy car through their Insurers or from their garage. I know some Insurers are offering bigger cars than the standard 1.0/1.2L compact classes but you do of course have to pay extra for this AND in advance. Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated.

Insurance Courtesy Cars should be of equal to the car insured ie, if you have a 1.1 Astra then you can only expect a similar car, however if its a 7 seater mpv or a top of the range Range Rover the same rules apply in that the courtesy car should be of the same size and quality.

OP, perhaps you should ask on the insurance forum?

Sorry don_key1 but you are incorrect. Under the terms of most insurance policies, you are only entitled to a basic courtesy car - not like for like! Unfortunately most people only find this out after an accident!!!

It probably depends upon the insurer and whether you are the injured party. I was injured party a year ago and didnt have any real trouble getting the company to bring in a car from the mainland to match up.
    Always overestimating...
