Books Exchange - Come mooch

I came across this website https://www.bookmooch.com

It is pretty cool, you can swap your unwanted books for books that you are looking to buy. So, it's a cheap way to get the books that you want without paying the recommended retail price for it.

hi middlecat - havent had a chance to look at the site, but you're not allowed links in your signature. Just thought i'd let you know before the forum team see it ;):)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

    I'd recommend www.readitswapit.co.uk

This is a really well-established book swapping site that is really easy to use. :)

I just stuck a few of my books on readitswapit, and have asked for a swap with someone. We'll see how it goes.

I've done 85 swaps so far on readitswapit - every single one has gone fine - I'm addicted. Actually maybe this isn't money saving when I think of the postage I've paid out lol

An audio interview with the creator of Bookmooch

The problem with Readitswapit is that you can only swap with someone if you both have a book each other wants.

Bookmooch has a points system - and you can donate the points to charity if you want!

The disadvantage is that it's very new and needs a lot more UK users

    :)
  • Try www.bookcrossing.com its a site where you can register your books and when you've read them you can leave them somewhere (ie; a public loo, college, bustop-anywhere in fact) and then you leave a release alert on the site and people can go to the place and pick up the book. You can then follow the journey of the book as people can register a book they've picked up (they sometimes even find their way to foreign countries!). It is a fab way to get rid of all those books that you've read
