£2 coin savers club - £2 coin a rare sighting!

Hi all,

I was looking at the £2 savers club thread thinking how brilliant an idea this was.

Then, when I started thinking about it, I realised that I can't remember the last time a £2 coin was passed to me.

I think for this year, I would be lucky if I had £6 saved by now!!!

Now.. I stay in Scotland, so I don't know if this is an issue that only effects us north of the border or whether the rest of the UK also have a shortage of these coins?

Or maybe there's a shortage because all the £2 savers have them in their Piggie-Banks!!:rotfl:

Anyway, your thoughts are welcome...

Steven

  • Hello,
I think you are right about this. I've been saving them for years and they are getting thin on the ground lately. I save them up til I have £100 then take them to the bank and deposit them in a secret savings account. My reasoning is that the quicker I release them, the faster they'll come back to me! ;)

When I said we, I meant the £2 savers as a whole.

Yep, I am struggling a bit, they're like gold dust :D

Wonder Girl (got it right :p ) and I started saving together, and yes, she is doing a lot better than me. Must have a trip up to Leeds and see if I can find any.

I actually have 3 in my purse, but £6 is quite a lot to save when it's school holidays etc.

I only get them from my driving instructor regularly - but have swaped them with parents / grandparents / anyone who wouldn't think I was crazy :rotfl:

I have to agree, in Soggy Suffolk (ok not at the moment!) they are also pretty sparse on the ground.
I think part of the problem is that we try and stop spending and therefore don't hand over notes to get them in the change.
