    No, I didn't know that.

But seeing as though I don't live in Stepford, life's too short :rotfl:

I use slightly damp microfibre cloth, but agree it would be good to place all these items out of the sunlight, I have the same problem with window sills in the bedrooms, they are dark brown to match the window frames, dust one day and its back the next........I tend to look at it and draw the curtains.:D

I use baby wipes and the items don't look dusty again for at least 2 days.

Just read about the tumble drier sheets and I'm kicking myself, because I had some, but we moved 3 weeks ago and I can't find them for the life of me!

I'm going to try this as my digital piano always looks horrendously dusty - even just after I've dusted it!

I've seen them in Staples and never thought to use them on other things! Think the BH has some in the office :D

Glad I found this, I was going to start a "suggest a duster" thread :rotfl:

I'm the same. I've tried yellow dusters, a big blue feathery anti static thing, the microfibre cloths that come with the black Wii and the TV, I even tried a LCD TV spray. The dust just goes back after a few minutes!

I'll try the tumble drier sheets. I use a tumble drier, but never used sheets.

The thing is, even without dust all over it the tv stand still looks horrible -black glass and chrome is not my style. I want a nice wooden cupboard type thing:(

LOL I know exactly what you mean Thriftlady, except in my fantasy it would be one of those Ikea / Continental style "wall of storage" things, filled with interesting books and nooks and crannies for nicknacks and clever storage solutions. With doors on, so I don't need to look at the dust!

Not our style either. Especially when you have a four year old who would just get it covered in mucky fingerprints. We went for a chunky walnut TV unit. Just got matching sideboard and plan on matching dining table eventually when we have the money.

Don't know whether to get cream or brown leather chairs though. Friends have said to get the dark because of my four year old, but then won't the leather be easy to wipe down??

Don't know about dining chairs but we have been looking for a new (ie secondhand) car with a light cloured interior since we don't like dark colours and I was surprised to see how grimy pale leather gets, considering the cars we have been looking at have been valeted.

We have a 12 year old car with pale beige cloth upholstery at the moment and it gets water marks when you open the door when it's raining but a quick going over with a steam cleaner and it's like new. So I was surprised to see how scruffy leather can get in such a short time. It's made us decide to stick with cloth upholstery.

Sorry it's a bit long winded but the point I was driving at is that if you want to go for leather go for a dark colour as it's easier to cover up scuff marks
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
