Cleaning a pine kitchen.

Options
Hi all and wonder if you can help me out here. I have a fitted pine kitchen. Although cleaning/wiping down the doors etc is easy enough i have a problem with the hood above the cooker.
When we bought the house, although the kitchen was a few years old, and looked after, the pine door covering the hood has gone a horrible brown color and thick with grease.
Ive tried a various selection of cleaners, and its still brown and tacky!!
Can any of you recommend anything to use, without scraping it off.
Thanks in advance!!:j

Stardrops is your answer. Failing that try a bicarbonate of soda paste rinsed off with white vinegar or lemon juice.

Have to say I had the identical problem!! I bought a karcher steam cleaner some months ago and used it on the cupboard door above the built-in oven, I just couldn't believe the muck that came off, the door now looks as good as new!!

I don't have any excuses, we installed the kitchen and I suppose the grease marks above the oven just grew and grew! It never did vent properly.
