Would be unusual, to say the least, that the Borders Agency contacted DWP. I'm not aware of any regular liaison between them & DWP either.
You told your adviser, though, that you were going on a break. Did you mention Denmark to them ? Or is it possible someone has reported you ?
The first four weeks of "temporary absence from Great Britain" are payable. But you should tell DWP the date you're leaving the country in advance. They'll then suspend your benefits & you'll get your four weeks back when you tell them you've returned.
I'm surprised you've had a P45 sent out. That sounds ominous, however they might be trying to get you off ESA and back onto the IS/IB regime. You need to phone your benefit delivery centre asap to find out what that's about & to give them the dates you left and returned to GB.
As to giving them false dates ... not advisable. Because your arrears calculation might end up being incorrect and you'll get paid too much.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0
