Salary paid into wrong acct - DMP

I am on a DMP (CCCS) and moved jobs. As part of DMP moved to a new bank account.
My final salary from old company has gone to the old bank account, their error, as they had been paying salary to my new account previously.
Can my old employers apply to get these funds back?? and send through to my new account - or does my money have to sit there (effectively wiping out half of the overdraft that is on there?)
Any help appreciated asap as I need to sort today.

No chance this will be sorted today, salary funds take about 5 days to move, so would be at least 5 days back to your employer, 5 days to your new account.
As it is your account (name and acc num match) the funds will be paid and will pay off the overdraft. The bank has done nothing wrong so are unlikely to allow a reversal of funds. You will just have to contact your employer and say you made a mistake and paid into an account i no longer have any access to.
This happened to my friend on bankcruptcy, one lot of moneyw as paid into a frozen account (was never recovered), and a 2nd lot paid into the wrong account number. Names didn't match so payment was sent back to employer to goto the new account. Took 2-3 weeks to resolve.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
OK - thanks for your help on this. Much appreciated.0

this happened to me when i first started my DMP. I went to a branch and explained everything. They gave me a cheque minus £100 i think it was ( for admin fees) back. my employer was very angry but at the end of the day i gave them my new details way in advance. I spose it depends who you get that day and how helpful they are. good luck.:T Wins: Annual Taste London Membership * Fabulous Mag comp Vie spray on tights * Rimmel Pro nail Varnish * Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara * Walking with dinosaurs family of 4 pass at Wembley Arena * Baptiste 3 trial size dry shampoo and mini brush :T

This happened to me with the halifax. They wouldn't give me the money back by going around the houses saying its with this person that person etc. I chased and chased and nothing happened, Head office kept saying they hadn't had the correct documentation from the Branch, the Branch said they'd sent it and only Head office could make the decision.
I gave up.:beer:0 -

Hells teeth, that's a blow, Im sorry to read that, I hope you can sort this, I've just organised a new bank for my salary and something like this will just about put the tin hat on it. I can see I'm going to have to follow this up and try my best to ensure money hits the correct account.
