Help Needed Urgent Hsbc
Hi,
I have a managed loan with hsbc .i was given a solo card and had a current account.
I missed couple of payments this year 2006 due to some serious problems and as a result of which i have got a new managed loan recently done with hsbc where payment start is sep 12,
In march hsbc retarcted my solo card since i did not make payments .
Now they say even though i have a current account they wud not issue me a solo card or any other form of card . I told them i dont need one wit hoverdraft limit but just a card as how will i do my shopping if i dont have a card with me .
But they still refused. Can anyone comment on is that right to have a current account with no debit card isseud or electron or solo.
I'am very angry with hsbc though pls suggest can i complain anywhere

There is no legal right for a company to give you a debit card. As long as it is not on a legally defined discriminatory basis (ie because of your race/ sex etc) then they are free to make the business decision on who they trust to be responsible enough with a card.
You would have to go down HSBCs formal complaint route first and once receiving a written final decision from them there is the option of the Financial Ombusman Service but to be honest I cannot see them over turning a business decision. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
