Feeling somewhat sick.....

Added up my total Visa balances last night and the total just over £22,400!! _pale_

Feel seriously sick as that doesn't even include my loan (that I stupidly took out to pay off two of the cards and didn't cut the cards up)!

Never missed any payments but owing more than my yearly wages, am I likely to be able to get a lower interest rate visa to transfer to?

One card is 1.24% per month on purchases
One card is 1.456% per month on purchases
One card is 1.78% per month on purchases.

All have account cover - any suggestions as to who to take out alternative insurance policy with so I can cancel these?

Can't believe it's increased that much, even with the wedding, honeymoon, moving house etc.

Feel so very stupid. :o

Not sure what to do as I can only just cover the minimum payments and currently all the petrol and food bills still go on the visa - stupid I know but Hubby is self employed and had 3 months with no work so we had to eat!!!

I'm looking on OS board to try and get the food bill down.

Don't want to do a DMP unless it's the only choice.

Hi newlywed, hugs to you. I know it's not nice to add up all your debt, but at least you've done it and you can now look forward. Post a statement of affairs (all your income and outgoings each month) and I'm sure someone far more qualified than me will be able to see where you could save and so put some money towards the debts.

    Good Luck!

Thanks. SOA is somewhat tricky since Hubby's work is so very hit and miss.

Sometimes I only pay our rent, food and my bills. Other months I pay council tax, water, telephone, and everything of his that I possibly can, ending up maxing out the cards again usually. Hence the current mess. :o

    Have already:
Cancelled the gym (saving £40 a month)
In the middle of changing mobile contracts (saving £20 a month)
Stopped buying clothes and shoes (which got me into the initial problem)
Sold lots of stuff on ebay but still got some more bits to go on.

Will try and work out a SOA tonight and post the full details. Felt so sick last night that I didn't get that far.
