My promise was only £2,300, £12,269 seems very high is it right and what is your sum assured, your not confusing the two are you.

Hi, I'm getting the promise figure from the "Things to bear in mind" section of my latest statement - the wording is: "the shortfall shown in 'how the policy is doing' could be reduced by up to £12,269 (maximum Promise amount)..."

My shortfall, at 4%, is projected to be £24,369.

I've double checked the sum guaranteed which is £18,434.

That sounds right so if they don’t remove it the minimum you will get is over £30k if that is not above the original target. if it was me I’d risk holding on to it.
