I have found the way to stay on budget

Trying to budget for weekly shopping was always a bit of a problem with my other half as if she went in to a shop for a loaf of bread and a pint of milk she would walk out with a trolley full of junk . So now if shopping has to be done I just go my self and just get whats needed staying in budget. And get lots of bogof as well.

    Hello All,

I found a great way to stay on budget when doing my weekly shop because I too love my junk! I only pay in cash, and only have the amount I want to spend in my wallet- my card now lives in my wardrobe and is taken out once a month! Therefore no choice but to be careful otherwise I will be very embarrassed at the checkout!

    hi bigdec,

Fancy doing my shopping too?!?! I have managed to stop myself from having to pop out for extras by freezing bread and milk. I also go to the greengrocers/ market for fruit and veg (the only things I need to buy in between shops) and I must use cash for that so can only spent what I have budgetted. When I do my weekly shop I always write a list (and try to remember to take it with me lol!) which stops me from buying junk.

Bigdec, you are the man :T :T :T

I've been looking for a way to get out of food shopping for years, and I think that's it :j

Off to suggest it to OH straight away :rotfl:

Men everywhere are going to be looking for you bigdec and us ladies will be singing your praises! :)
It's hard for me to budget as I'm parent of 16 year old son whose taste in food changes approximately every 4.2 hours!!! And I can't eat it myself as I have a severe dairy allergy so I pass it on to family.
Is there a manual for training and handling 16 year olds?! :)
