Bankrupt, need a new car

Hi all

I'm 5 months into my bankrupcy.

Today, i was told by a mechanic that my car is not worth repairing (there's around £800 of work to be done initially, and it's not worth much more than that).

I use a car for work, in fact I NEED a car for work, I'm paid an allowance as I'm an essential car user.

I had planned to replace the car when my bankrupcy is over, but now need to do that sooner.

Obviously I can't get a loan to buy one, (can I?) and have no means of buying one outright.

Do i have any options? I'm at my wits end. Someone has offered to lend me £1000, would this be allowed under the terms of my bankrupcy if it was an informal arrangement? Do i have to declare it?

If someone spent more than £1000 on a car for me to use, £5000 say, would that be allowed if it was registered in their name?

Help!
