hi guys i was looking at laser hair removal (i definately want the laser hair option) and have read a lot of the threads on here and wondered if anyone can help... i have found a beauty salon in my town that uses the Soprano XL system laser at a fraction of the price of the skin clinics would anyone have any knowledge on this system and whether it is any good?
also reading into it it seems that the laser does not completely guarantee permanent hair removal and it may need "topping" up from time to time.has anyone had to do this "topping" up and what is time to time??
thanks for any replies

Googling the system, it looks good to me.
(What does a dentist know? Well, I have a sideline in laser tattoo removal, so have done a bit on laser theory and safety)
One thing to make sure of though is that your beauty salon is registered with the Care Quality Commission.
This is a requirement for all places operating laser and IPL systems, including hair removal systems.
These lasers are essentally quite simple to operate, but the CQC check that proper training, laser 'core knowledge' training has been done, and that the beauty salon is equipped and capable of delivering 'medical' services safely.
Places like this can BUY lasers very easily, but there needs to be proper regulation of their use, as they can be quite dangerous in the wrong hands.
For laser hair removal, no, it isn't permanent. The body will always try and heal itself, and we are genetically programmed to be hairy. It can't change that.
But it will be far superior to any chemical hair removal, or electrolysis, or anything else you can get. It's not 'forever' though.
DO make sure they're CQC registered though, and you'd be doing the area a favour if you reported them if they weren't.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
It's important to find out what type of technology they are using, laser technology comes in 2 main types IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and Real Lasers - IPL is a watered down version as it contains lots of different light we wavelengths includng a small proportion of hair removal wavelengths. Real lasers on the other hand contain only hair removal light wavelengths and therefore more effective and longer lasting.
We use Candela Laser Technology which provides some of the best laser hair removal London (and the UK) has seen - its a world leading technology - Google it and see that it's one of the best types of laser technologies. Check what type of lasers your local clinic is using then decide - in some cases IPL might be cheaper but it can also be a false economy as you might need to keep topping it up.
Good luck! :-)0 -
Hmmm,
Advertising your own laser clinic AND electronic cigarettes in the same post.
Doesn't say much for your ethics!!How to find a dentist.
