LTD & Company Pensions

Having worked for the same bank for 32 years a friend of mine was signed off with a tumour and excess blood pressure in June 04, she was put onto LTD in Sep 05, she will be 56 in Feb07.
If she is "retired" thru ill health, how will the LTD affect her pension, will her pension be calculated on her current "salary" which is 55% of her contracted amount?
Will she be entitled to any sort of retirement package if forced out ( this looks likely to happen).
She is at her wits end as no-one will answer her questions, she is almost suicidal.
Any advice or help would be appreciated, thank you.
