Just had a debt collector round!!

Well, gave me a bit of a giggle.
After pleasant introductories:
HIM - You owe EON £30. (a collector for £30!)
Sky - And?
HIM - No need to be like that with me..
Sky - I haven't started yet. What do you want?
HIM - That car registered to you...
Sky - No it's not. It's registered to my Ex-Husband so start again.
HIM - I could just have clamped it.
Sky - No you can't. You're a basic debt collector, not a bailiff and that debt has not been to court for a CCJ. So try it.
HIM - ...................?? Well you owe....
Sky - No I don't. That debt should have been included in my bankruptcy so I'm not paying it.
HIM - But I am here to collect. (At this point, I stepped out of the doorway and onto the doorstep to move him backwards - basic doorman move taught by my ex; see ex wasn't that useless after all!)
Sky - I'm not paying it. Bankruptcy trumps whatever EON think.
HIM - (leaving now), well, just call them and sort it out or they will pass it onto the team.
Sky - And just what do you think the team are going to do to me? Well?
HIM - ...... ????
Sky - Go for it.
HIM - (on other side of gate) Just call them and sort it.
Sky - No. Goodbye.
And I feel great!!! I love empowerment! :beer::beer::beer: :money::T:T:T:rotfl::rotfl:
(at this point, I should add that naughtyly, I probably do owe them the £30. They billed me for a huge amount one month after my BR. Now, I should have contacted them to get them to re-bill, but after a year I paid a bit and had this £30 leftover. I then told them I was BR and should not have paid the money in the first place... Stupid rather than naughty. And it's not what I would have suggested on this forum had someone asked me.....................) But as I have paid the majority of the bill that should have been in my BR in the first place I guess I owe them the remainder??

Lol! I am amazed that they sent someone round for £30!! It must have cost them more than that to send him!
He of course broke a few rules by saying he would clamp your car for it, clearly trying to intimidate you, did he say which company he was from?0 -
THanks for that, you made me smile on an otherwise very wet dull day.
Well done you!!0 -
He did during the pleasantries, but I didn't listen so cannot remember. He also had an envelope with my name and address on that he kept in the end and didn't hand over (not that I woudl have taken it).0
