Experian & equifax both offer free trials - but you cannot do more them more than once, so you would need to do whichever you haven't already - or pay £2 for the statutory report - which has the same information.

Well, after looking at my credit report, everything seems ok. All my creditors have the word "satisfactory" in green next to my payments and I have only had 2 late payments in the last 6 months.

The downside is, one of my accounts is currently overdue by 1 month but other than that, everything is fine.

2 late payments in the last 6 months is far from fine. Everything paid on time would be fine.

oh ok... The thing is, the times I've had a late payment is when I've had a bank charge or when my car broke down messing my finances up. With the loan, I would have more money left over each month so it wouldn't happen.

So can I still get a loan?

I don't expect to get something like 7% APR, I'm aiming for about 15-20%

This may well be true, and highly relevant, but as you can see from your report, what's listed is a series of numbers, and not the personal backstory behind them.

I believe most credit decisions are based on computer profiling your credit report, and it will see missed, late payments etc, not your car with smoke coming out the bonnet.

If you look at https://www.moneysupermarket.com, it does loan searches based on Good, Fair and Poor credit scores.... it lists companies there.

From memory, you'll be lucky to get 15-20% for that kind of loan amount even with a flawless profile.
The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

So it's bad news then... whats the chances of getting a credit card with a limit of £3000 to pay off everything else? At least with a credit card I could pay back more on some months when I have more money.

Yes but, I've got problems at the moment, I need to pay my car finance THIS MONTH but I cant, my cards are near the limits, my OD is at the limit so I can't pay for it. The only way I see out of my situation is by clearing all 4 at once and just having 2 steady bills which come out on the same day every month (the consolidation CC and my car finance.)

I intend to change banks as soon as it's in the green and get a basic bank account so I can manage what I owe much better (and stop myself falling deeper into debt) since having the OD right there is just too temping.
