Wimpey No Fines

Hi Everybody Please help!
I'm coming to the end of my 5 year fixed deal with Northern Rock and am looking to remortgage.
I need an 80-85% LTV and that hasn't been too problematic, found a good deal, paid my fees and booked the survey.
However my mortgage request has been declined and fees lost as the survey came back stating that my flat is a 'Wimpey no fines' construction. (Something Northen Rock did not pick up as on my original survey 5 years ago. Grrrr)
I went back to my broker and he has told me that HBOS are the only mortgage company who will deal with this kind of property and their rates are just too high for me to consider moving to them.
I live on the top floor of a 4 story flat and whilst there have been posts about houses of this contruction I can find nothing about flats.
Am I really stuck with no options but to stay with Northen Rock and ride their varible rate?
