sorry if this is wrong board.
i have recently move into a new house it was an exchange from west lothian council to castle rock/edinvar. since the rain started yesterday we have a major leak in our roof which has been pouring in since last night. my husband had to pop the ceiling early hours this morning with a screw driver to release some of the water as it was starting to bevel i now have a huge crack along the ceiling and and the water is still coming in i did have some work done on the roof a couple of weeks and was told it was all sorted, obviously not. i have called castle rock and reported to problem but have been told that the roofer has been notified of the problem and will get back to us betwen 1 and 20 days
surely they cant expect us to live like this for that long wether it be one day or 20 days they have made the mistake and not fixed the problem properly. we have 4 kids in the kids the house youngest is 2 and eldest is 14 when my husband told the woman on the phone we have a 2 yr old she replied with well i dont think that your 2yr old would be climbimg the stairs anyway. the leak is right along my landing and has completly ruined my carpet all my stairs are soaked.

any advice as to whom i can call or wat my rights are would be appreciated.

Call them again & tell them that it is an emergency, your property & goods are being soaked & ruined & that you will sue them for compensation.
If you do not insist on this they will simply take their time & give it a low priority.

With a holiday weekend coming up you want to keep pestering by phone because after lunchtime Thursday you will be lucky to get anyone.

You should also notify your insurance company and ask for a claim form.
