Does Bankruptcy affect anyone else??

Hi Guys

Have a quick question, I am seriously considering bankruptcy as my debts are too large and I just can not manage anymore.
Anyway my question is this, If i do declare bankruptcy does it affect anyone else in the household ? I live at home with my Mum and my older brother and wonder if I declare myself bankrupt if it will affect their credit etc, I dont own any property, my car is'nt worth much and have nothing of any real value,so really have not much to lose if I am bankrupt, but I dont want to affect other people with it !!.

  • Won't show on anybody elses credit files at all.

But are you REALLY sure this is your only option?

  • Yeah i'm pretty sure its my only option, after the first part of the year when I was paying my debts ok and was always in credit with my bank every month, a couple of things have happened this last few months that have messed me up, and now i'm on my O/D all the time, and my C/C debt has increased too.
But gonna take the plunge and call CCCS and get some advice.
Thanks for your help though .
  • What work do you do as going bankrupt may affect that and or for the future. i wouldnt recommend it at all. seek advice from the links in the bottom of my signature first.

There are other ways out. Speak asap to CCCS or Payplan who will give you impartial advice as to your best options.
