Savings Accounts

Sometime ago there was a discussion on her about savings accounts for BR's.
A few of us opened an on-line account with Yorkshire Bank. I have just opened an account with ING with not problems and they pay interest monthly.

Thanks for that, think I will try to open one as well:T

Just had a look and it states that you need to hold a current account with a cheque book and Direct Debit facility. That counts me out:(

I have just looked at the ING website and they state that you need a bank account that has a CHEQUE BOOK! It states it needs a cheque deposit into the account with the name on the cheque matching the person applying.
    Extract from web site:
"We need to set up a link between your ING Direct Savings Account and an external account in order to enable you to make withdrawals and deposits quickly and efficiently, either over the telephone or online.

We require this external account to be a personal UK current account which provides a chequebook and accepts Direct Debit Instructions. In order to ensure a high level of security we must receive a cheque deposit from every current account that is to be linked to an ING Direct Savings Account. The pre-printed name on the cheque must match the name in which the ING Direct Savings Account is held and the cheque must not be drawn on a business account."
    I can't provide that!

    :(
