When I met my caterer last week we mentioned about having Bucks Fizz as a welcome drink, she suggested it might be a good idea to make it yourself,so if ppl were driving they could have Orange Juice and if others prefered wine they could have that instead,I'm not sure what wine would be best though, any suggestions, don't want it to get expensive.
Thanks

just get a nice sparkling wine for the bucks fizz or i think you can buy bottles of it already mixed in tesco's and also if you want to make a non-alcoholic version just have lemonade and orange juice for the drivers, that way no one really misses out.0

I'm not really a wine drinker Gandy,do you have any suggestions?:)0

not really sure what sparkling wine would go okay for this, i've never really made it up myself. but i'd say a fairly cheapish sparkling wine would be okay as your mixing it with orange juice.
m&s have some nice cava's that you could use, this one gets a fairly good review

and currently it works out at £5ish per bottle, my sister used this at her wedding instead of champagne and i thought i was lovely.
If you check sainsburys, asda or tesco they normally do their own bucks fizz pre mixed and it's about anywhere from £2.00 - £4.50 a bottle which might work out better for you and then all you have to do is buy the lemonade and orange juice for the non-alcoholic version.
hope this helps0 -
Thank you:)x0

Tesco's asti is nice about £7 a bottle I believe.
I would worry that everyone will have wine though cos I don't know many people who would prefer bucks fizz to wineBump due 22nd September0 -
Yuck- bucks fizz! :lipsrseal I hate it when you go to a wedding and all they have is bf or orange juice. You would probably find that most people would rather have wine or if they don't drink then some fruit juice. Last wedding I went to had bf and no-one touched it- there were loads of glasses that were left over that hadn't been drunk- what a waste! Most people had the squash or water (and there were a lot of big drinkers there!)0

Yuck - wine! Haha danilou I'm the opposite, I don't drink wine and at my brother's wedding there was wine everywhere and no other choice apart from Pimms as a welcome drink when you arrived at the venue. I see what you mean about most people liking wine though. I'd welcome a Buck's Fizz as an alternative though.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

Aldis have a really nice sparkling wine, which someone I know who is a millionaire serves at his parties as he thinks it's so good (and no, he's not cheap!) I'll find out which one it is and post back.
Also, if people don't like the Bucks Fizz, you could offer Kir Royale, or just the wine on it's own?
ETA had a look at the Aldi site, this is it http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/product_range/product_range_3421.htm it's £6.99 a bottle, don't know what that does to your budget, but I'm sure they have a sparkling wine which is about £3 or £4 in store which I've bought and was really good, which might do for cocktails. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

I can second this, it's a lovely sparkling wine. I wouldn't want to spoil it by mixing it with orange juice though!0 -
There is a nice cava in bookers, it's a wholesalers if yo're able to get to it. Works out £4-5 a bottle. I will find out which one it is and post back. Could you maybe try a different fizzy type cocktail, there's a really nice vodka/redbull/ champagne type thing. They used to sell them in pitchers near me so they can't be very expensive to make0
