Hope someone can explain something for me.I`m wanting to make this pattern from the chart but don`t understand why some stitches are blacked out and it says No Stitich
 cos surely if the stitch is`nt knitted all the pattern will be out ?

            Not sure, maybe its to give it some shape at the bottom?? i'm not at all experienced, sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon.

            Hi,
If you look at the pattern you'll find that the number of stitches vary from row to row so you won't be knitting the same number of stitches so they put 'no stitch' so the grid will still line up.0 - 
            nuttywoman as raw_neon says there are differing numbers of stitches on the rows - the best thing to do is keep an eye on the tree pattern as it develops - the knitting either side of the tree is single coloured, so just pay attention to the placing of the tree - follow the placing from the row below to form the shape of the tree. Also wouldn't worry about the odd tree stitch being out, if that may happen, as its a pretty free-form design
