Any tips to keep helium balloons perky?

I've ordered some helium balloons for my Grandma's birthday tomorrow but they have arrived today and I am worried they will start to deflate.

Is there anything anyone can recommend to keep them perky, please?

Are they foil balloons? If so they should be OK, if they are the other sort they will deflate. You could try and buy one of those home helium kids and top them up.

keep them in a warm place ie near a radiator or to the side of your fireplace if fire is on

That will make them lose helium faster.

All balloons will leak through their valve to some extent, plus they also actually lose the gas through the balloon skin by a process called osmosis.

Keep the balloon in a dark place at a fairly constant cool temperature - understairs cupboard or the garage would be ideal if you've got one.

DO NOT put them in a warm or light place. Osmosis and leakage will only occur faster.

You can't completely stop osmosis - it works at atomic/molecular level.

thanks for that about keeping near warmth but I am confused as ours always seem to last better when in the lounge where it is warm?
