Mortgage Payment Holiday - breathing space.

Hello,

My first post although I am an avid reader of all the helpful advice here.

Quick question - has anyone taken a break from their Mortgage to allow them to pay off debts sooner, or do you think it is better to keep transferring balances to 0% credit cards and plugging away - I can only afford to pay about £200 per month to this card?

We have 5K on a RBS credit card and it's 0% till October.

Any thoughts?

Polly

    Hi Polly,

I was thinking about a mortgage holiday today as well.

With my situ i may struggle to pay it for a few months even on the bare bones of a DMP (£5 per creditor, per month). How easy are they to get? Anyone had one? How long do they last?

I would like one for 3-6 months just while I straighten myself out.

    Thanks
    Mike
