I doubt this would work. They want money now. So £4000 now is worth more to them than say £100/ month for 80 months. You are hoping they think that £100/month for 40 months is worth more to them than £100/month for 80 months. They are unlikely to see it this way.I wonder if I can ask them to half the amount then still let me pay £100 pm?!!:cool: Worth a go do you reckon?!! Thanks for all the advice by the way.

Can you start to build a little savings up each month from now on, so that in a year or 2 you might be in a better position to negotiate a full and final settlement?
Or if that's something you are completly unable to do now, then perhapse when you've paid off some other debts etc you could consider this as an option.0
