how did they take the money?
was it by dd or did they take it out with your card number?
if it was by dd ,had you authorised them to take money by dd if not you could claim it back using the dd guarantee but i suppose that would put you back in debt to them.

    Hi,

My direct debit was to pay them the interest each month (£60) which was due to come out a couple of days AFTER I e-mailed them saying I was having trouble. Three days after e-mailed them, they took £150 from my card, which wasn't a DD - they just decided to take that amount. Or maybe they tried a few higher amounts which were refused by bank, and they eventaully managed to get £150 authorised. I'm surprised the bank allowed it to go through, given i had less than half of that available. So i was left with about -£80 in my account, which became £-105 immediately after as bank fined me a further £25 for going over my limit. Imagine the time I had over new year. Below is what Uncle Buck sent to me on Dec 30, after I wrote to them on Dec 27. My main complaint is that they took the £150 without asking me if i could manage this - I was left in real financial hardship after they did this to me, which I felt was unfair given that I had contacted them to tell them of my troubles a few days before.
    Thank you for your email.
Our collections department is now closed until 4th January.
The balance outstanding on your account was £325 and a payment of £150 has been authorised today on your debit card. If the payment due to extend the loan is not made, the full balance becomes due.
The remaining balance is £175. We can agree for this amount to be repaid over a three month period without any further interest being added. This will equate to 3 monthly payments of £58.33 to commence on 27th January.
If you would like to accept this offer please let me know and I can set the repayment plan in place for you.
    Regards
    Uncle Buck

I think its a quote from David Copperfield but its bandied about as The Macawber Principle.
Google it in case I'm wrong!
