Organic/Chemical-free scents/perfumes?

Are there such things?

We are chemical-free/organic in every other cleaning and toiletry item, but I've yet to find a perfume that fits the bill.

I can't use 'normal' perfume - I get skin and breathing reactions to all that I've tried - but every so often it would be nice to have a scent.

Why not simply dilute essential oils?

I just use essential oils. I don't dilute them but if you have sensitive skin, it would be worth being cautious.

Essential oils sound like a good idea - don't know why I didn't think about it. Would you just dilute in water, or is there a special base?

Some of the better health food shops do sell organic scents of some sort, I can find plenty here in London.

In the past I've used a spray bottle with water and a few drops of essential oils. Give a good shake before spraying for a light scent. Or you could dilute with a carrier oil and dab on pulse points etc.

    It's only a game

They're not organic, but Lush do some natural ingredient ones.

I like the Olive Branch, but its only available as solid perfume at the moment, although they sometimes do a special run of bottles at christmas. Its costs £5.10.

They do a couple of bottled perfumes.

I sell organic perfumes on my Wikaniko website, click here
If you type 'perfume' into the search facility they will come up.
We do 5 different scents which are all £18.99 each for 100ml

    Hope this helps

I'm not sure if it fits your requirements but Liz Earle have recently brought out a fragrance. Liz Earle as a company don't use unnecessary chemicals, source organic products, are a environmentally responsible company, against animal testing, and are a UK company based in the Isle of Wight. I have sensitive skin and it's one of the few ranges that I can use without irritations.

jd87 - in my case, I can have problems with things containing solvents used for the scent extraction (breathing), linalool (skin), and synthetic scents (breathing/skin). I'm not sure that some base alcohols aren't causing issues either.

I've yet to pin down precisely which ingredients are the ones I need to avoid totally, and which I just need to limit, so I'm aiming for total avoidance of as many man-made ingredients/known irritants as possible, to be on the safe side.

I think the earlier suggestion of diluting essential oils may be one to try, although I will take a look at the other suggestions too.
