I have been discharged from being bankrupt, I was self employed I went to start a new job and my utr number has been changed could somone pls explain why the tax office would change it. Now that I have been discharged I know I have 5 years left before it's cleared off my records. Is everything finished with official reciever now, I never had a repayment thing. Many thanks for answering any of my questions.

Your UTR shouldn't change when you are self employed. When you say you went to start a new job, was that under SE or PAYE with an employer?
If you are still SE then call the tax office and ask why you have a new number. If you are with an employer now on his books and not SE then I wouldn't worry too much as the two are not connected.0
