Jam/chutney recipies which will keep!

Hi

I'm a jam and chutney newbie but im determined to make some to give as christmas presents this year!

Anyway I have a weeks holiday at the end of april and would love to have a go at making something thats fairly easy and cheap and will keep for a long time!

    Most jams and chutneys will keep for a long time as they were designed to preserve for eating foods out of season.
    There is a big thread of recipes in the 'preservers year' (sorry can't link as I am on a mobile) but off the top of my head Hugh Fearnley Whittingstalls glutney chutney is very good and keeps well
