Hi guys,
Is there anyone out there who can give me an idea of what its like to commute from central Bangor/Bangor West to Belfast centre. Both via train and driving. I'm talking 9-5 although could do the drive 8-4. What is the traffic/driving time like, what are the train conditions like (in terms of getting a seat, comfortable journey, cost etc)?
Thanks everyone.

Well I dont do that journey myself but I used to do it in revevse!
Train is good, but quite expensive I think. There is a car park where train passengers can leave their car but it fills up quickly. Central station in Belfast is about a 10 min walk from city centre, maybe less.driving, trafffic tends to be quite heavy. There are two routes, one very sceni, over te Craigantlet hills, probably quickest for getting to east Belfast ( me). The rother route is mostly dual carriageway and then Belfast city centre. i would say drive time about 40 mins. Have you got a potential parking space in the city centre? Would you be doing this every day or this this a "one off" visit?
Arty.
ps. its not a bad commute, either way, by most standards!
Is lift sharing an option?Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
£107 a month for the train. Usually runs on time and an express every 20 minutes around peak times. Its unusual not to get a seat and its comfortable enough for 20-30 minutes.0

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.
I'm used to doing the drive from Hollywood, so more interested in how long it usually takes to get to Hollywood in the morning and from there back to Bangor West in the evening.
@ Arty - I have a car parking space and it would be 3 times per week.0 -
