Tetrapaks = Cardboard?

Hey all
I took my recycling to the council run tip yesterday (we do not have collection sadly where I live) and I walked up to the area where the tetrapak recycling container normally is to find it wasn't there! So I asked one of the workers where to put them and he said that they now go in the cardboard container instead.
Is this the same everywhere now?
I thought tetrapak's were kept separate due to the foil insides?
I'm just being curious :rotfl:

My blue bin for paper/cardboard now lists drinks cartons which I take to mean tetrapak type cartons, I usually pull off any plastic bits first.0

It may vary - I think out tetrapacks are now supposed to go into the blue box (paper/glass/metals/plastic bottles/textiles/small electricals), from where the operatives will sort it into an appropriate bin on the lorry.
Our cardboard goes into a brown bin with garden compostables - emphatically no plastic in that one.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Our tetrapacks go in with the normal cardboard at our tip.0

We're not allowed to put tetrapaks with our recycling stuff because of the foil inner. My son has prescribed high calorie milk which comes in tetrapaks and I have had to put these into the brown bin for landfill for several years. It's been a real bugbear.
This week, though, his milk has arrived in small plastic bottles. I think they're great, as they are a good shape for crafts at Brownies and Rainbows, as well as being suitable for recycling. The only problem is that my son doesn't like them. He has learning difficulties and I can't convince him that they contain exactly the same milk. We have about five days supply of tetrapaks left, but I'm not sure what will happen after that. I might have to transfer his milk (out of his sight) to a spouted beaker and hope that works.0 -
Our council won't take tetrapaks but will take cardboard. We take tetrapaks to the local Co-op as they have a special bin for them in their carpark.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
Problem is different councils have different rules.It would make it easier if they all accpeted the same stuff when people go out of their way to recycle.0
