Got recommended by Financial Advisor, at the time the amount we were paying was £550 which was alot less than we'd of been paying for UK based product so looked like a good idea. Didn't know the interest rates where going to raise by that much.
No I just want to change my lender to a fixed rate over hear so I know what I'm paying a month and will be alot lower than what I'm paying now.0 -
Cheers MortgageMamma, much appreciated. Was planning on seeing an IFA but thought I'd ask on here first. Thanks for all the advice.0

You might be better with a dedicated mortgage broker on this one rather than an IFA (no disrespect to IFAs)I am a Mortgage Adviser

No point going from the frying pan into the furness.
Thats grossly unfair the Furness is a fantastic Building Society!!!!After all the searching life is what i make it!0 -
Even if MortgageMamma can't advise specifically there is lots of general advice around on this site. Accord appears to be an arm of the Yorkshire Building society. Can your existing lender make you an offer given that they are otherwise forcing you to move lender due to world affairs taking over the Libor Rate. What are your credit reports like ? Find out yourselves, first before prospective lenders.

What is the difference between a dedicated mortgage and an IFA. Spoke to Accord and we'd still have to pay the redemption figure, as far as I know my Credit Reports are good but never checked.0

You are missing the word 'adviser' in your question. There are specialties, regulations, qualifications. It is not a short story. Check your reports. They can be of great help in borrowing money at the best rates.
